Bearsted Athletic U11 V Lenham Wanderers U11 (away)

With a slight frost on the pitch, will the change in weather effect the boys unbeaten track record?

Seth is still in recovery and Casper supports the team for his 6th game as goal keeper, although in the first half Casper took a back seat as Bearsted managed to play most of the game in Lenham’s half.

Kyle shoots hard and low from the edge of the box, Lenham’s keeper makes the save but Harry is first to react and bundles it into the back the net. GOAL!

Bearsted to continue to pile on the pressure. Jack hits a shot into the side netting. James O hits the cross bar. Kyle shoots straight at the goal keeper.

Bearsted finally got rewarded for their constant threat with another shot from Kyle, saved well by the goal keeper. Once again the fastest to react was our centre midfielder Harry, who is taking up great positions and he tucks the ball away with a neat finish. GOAL!

James P and Timurs working together to defend their box and get the ball clear. Another save from Lenham’s goal keeper presents Charlie an opportunity from outside the box and he picks his spot and buries the ball into the net. GOAL!

Nathan works hard to clear the ball right on half time, resulting in Bearsted ending the half 3-0!

Half time substitutions see Oscar and Lewis enter the field.

The second half starts as the first finished with Timurs and Nathan getting early touches of the ball.

Oscar runs down the wing and plays the ball into the box but Lenham clear it.

Lewis floats in a corner which causes a scramble and Kyle pounces on the ball and fires in a low shot which deflects into the back of the net. GOAL!

Bearsted now comfortable and 4-0 up, decide its time to fall asleep allowing Lenham to take a wayward cross which manages to lob our goal keeper and score. 4-1 to Bearsted.

This provokes Ali the Manager to shout to those still awake on the pitch
“Where’s the focus gone?!”

This didn’t seem to make a difference and moments later Lenham seem to slip past multiple tackle attempts and score, doubling their tally.

Fortunately for Bearsted, Lenham’s late pressure comes to nothing and Bearsted continue their winning run and make it 7 wins from 7 games with a 4-2 victory!
