An ICT Technician is needed to join our brilliant team at Sota, a market-leading IT solutions provider. It will be based at customer premises, 5 days per week (School hours). You’ll be the primary contact for all their IT needs, their trusted technical partner. You’ll also form part of a small team providing support service to a number of other schools in the area and be required to work closely and support your colleagues located in these other schools.

We’d love to hear from you if you have excellent technical and communication skills, a can-do attitude, are a natural with customers and committed to delivering an outstanding service. Proficient with Windows, Google Workspace, Apple, Networking, Safeguarding tools and a wide range of other technologies typically found in an Education environment (up to 3rd line services.)

Your responsibilities

  • You’ll be the assigned customers central point of contact, their trusted technical partner
  • Creating and maintaining strong relationships with staff at all levels within our customers organisation
  • You’ll act as a lead contact for other onsite IT school support
  • You’ll resolve all IT issues in an efficient and timely manner
  • You’ll continuously develop skills, expertise and understanding in any required areas that would improve delivery of support and management or administration of systems, software or services
  • You’re on hand to resolve hardware issues with Desktops, Laptops, Peripherals and Printers to minimise disruption to end users
  • Network administration/troubleshooting
  • You’ll be responsible for implementing and managing the school’s Safeguarding policies and procedures on their chosen platform
  • You’ll be responsible for managing and maintaining the school’s cyber security systems
  • You’ll assist with the management and administration of Servers, Desktops, Laptops, Telephony Services and Network Infrastructure as or when required

You’ll act as the point of escalation for your assigned customer, resolving any problems swiftly and effectively.

Experience and knowledge

  • You can demonstrate abilities in the support and installation of a variety of IT and have extensive knowledge and practical experience of the following:
  • Project Management skills
  • Microsoft Desktop and Office Systems
  • Google Workspace and Chromebooks
  • Apple iPad and Mac Support, in addition Apple School Manager and Jamf School.
  • Microsoft Server and Virtualisation Technologies
  • Active Directory Security and Administration, GPO
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Support of hardware, printers, desktops, servers, projectors and interactive screens
  • Email, Antivirus and Backup software
  • Networking knowledge regarding WAN, LAN, VLAN, VPN, WLAN, layer 2/3 switching, Firewalls and routers
  • Mobile devices/phones
  • SIMS, PaperCut and Paxton
